Install / uninstall CADTool

FAQ 2-1: AutoCAD 2000~2005 version: CADTool menu is not loaded

 

Following these steps to load CADTool menu manually
Step 1
In AutoCAD command line, type menuload and hit <enter> to continue

Step 2
Click Menu Groups tab, then Browse button
Step 3
Browse to C:\CADTool\acad\ folder, select the 2nd one as shown and click on Open button
Step 4
Click on Load button and the CADTool will appear in top list panel
Step 5
Click on Menu Bar tab and follow steps shown below to insert CADTool menu
Step 6
In AutoCAD, click on Tools > Options ...  menu

As shown below, click on the + icon besides Support File Search Path to unfold the tree, and add a path pointing to C:\CADTool\acad  folder. Click on Apply, then OK button to continue.
Step 7
Quit your AutoCAD and start again. This step is important and required !
Users now are able to try CADTool products.

FAQ 2-2: AutoCAD Error: Invalid attempt to access a compiled function definition. You may want to define it using defun-q

 

Your AutoCAD has a S::STARTUP routine that is defined using 

(defun S::Startup() ( your stuffs here ) )

You can simply fix this error by adding a -q after (defun, as shown below

(defun-q S::Startup() ( your stuffs here ) )

Use Windows search to search  your AutoCAD and customization folder for *.MNL, *.LSP files that contain the string S::STARTUP.

 

 

If you install your AutoCAD in the default folder, most of the time your will find S::STARTUP in these files.

 

AutoCAD 2002

C:\Program Files\AutoCAD 2002\Support\acad2000.lsp

C:\Program Files\AutoCAD 2002\Support\acad2000doc.lsp

C:\Program Files\AutoCAD 2002\Support\acad.lsp

 

AutoCAD 2004

C:\Program Files\AutoCAD 2004\Support\acad2004.lsp

C:\Program Files\AutoCAD 2004\Support\acad2004doc.lsp

C:\Program Files\AutoCAD 2004\Support\acad.lsp

 

Once find the *.LSP or *.MNL file containing  S::STARTUP, edit it using any text editor, change

(defun S::Startup()  

to

(defun-q S::Startup()  

by inserting a "-q", save the change.

Re-start AutoCAD and you will not get this error any more, and, CADTool will function properly.

FAQ 2-3: MicroStation version: CADTool menu is not loaded

 

Follow these steps to complete Office2CAD installation
Step 1 
In MicroStation, run key-in MDL Load C:\CADTool\USTN\Setup 

Step 2 
You will see a installation success dialog box, and the CADTool menu will appear at the end of your menubar 

Step 3 
The installation is completed. 

Please note you have to run the same installation if you work in a different workspace.

FAQ 2-4: AutoCAD version: uninstall CADTool

In AutoCAD, click on CADTool >> Unload CADTool to unload CADTool menu

In Windows, click on Start >> Programs >> CADTool for AutoCAD >> Uninstall CADTool to remove CADTool files

FAQ 2-5: MicroStation version: uninstall CADTool

 

In MicroStation, click on CADTool >> Unload CADTool to unload CADTool

In MicroStation, click on CADTool >> Hide CADTool menu to unload CADTool menu

In Windows, click on Start >> Programs >> CADTool for MicroStation >> Uninstall CADTool to remove CADTool files

FAQ 2-6: AutoCAD 2006 version: CADTool menu is not loaded

 

Following these steps to load CADTool menu manually
Step 1
In AutoCAD command line, type menuload and hit <enter> to continue

Step 2
Click on Browse button

Step 3

At the bottom, Files of type, pick *.cui from the drop down list.

Browse to C:\CADTool\acad\  folder and pick CADTool.cui

Click on Open button to continue.

Step 4

Click on Load button to load.

CADTool menu will appear on top menu bar.

Click on Close button to dismiss the dialog box.

Quit AutoCAD and re-enter again. This step is important !

After re-enter AutoCAD, user will find the CADTool menu on top and be able to use it.
