FAQ
1-1: How is CADTool license implemented CADTool
licensing is implemented in two ways:
Single
standalone license
License
is fixed to each client's workstation using its hardware ID. The
hardware IDs CADTool uses are network card address (MAC address) or
hard disk serial number. Most of the time CADTool uses network card
address. For
single license, client does not have the flexibility to move the
license around to serve different CAD users. Network
license Client
runs a license server obtaining from CADTool on any workstation within
the organization. The license server is in charged for license
dispatching. Licensing request/dispatching is managed remotely through
LAN or internet. Network licensing has the flexibility to dispatch licenses as needed and
maximize their usage. For
example, client can purchase 1~3 network licenses to server 6~10 CAD users. It all depends on how many CAD
users will be using Office2CAD *concurrently*. For
details on network license, please refer to this
tutorial

FAQ 1-2:
How much is the cost of site or corporate license The
cost of site or corporate license depends on each client's current
number of users. Please
contact our sales department at
sales@cadtool.net and let us know: 1.
Which module you are interested in, Office2CAD or AutoBlock, AutoCAD or
MicroStation version 2.
The number of CAD users who will be using CADTool in you office CADTool

FAQ
1-3: For network license, when the license is dispatched or returned
When the license is dispatched
The license is dispatched only when user uses Office2CAD command, the most frequent used commands are import and update Excel tables.
If the users work on any drawings which Office2CAD command is not involved, the license will be still in the server and available for other users.
When the license is returned
The license will reside at end user's PC since the point of time she/he uses
first Office2CAD command, and will be returned only when the user quits
AutoCAD or MicroStation.

FAQ
1-4: If we buy three network licenses, but at some time four of our CAD users happen to use it, will one of them be "kicked out" of the program?
CADTool license
server has a counter to record down how many licenses are in used. If you purchase 3 and all 3 are in used, the 4th attempting user will get a message telling him the license pool is full while all 3 current users are still owning their licenses.

FAQ
1-6: Is there additional charge for support and upgrade
Clients will get free support, most of times through email, some times over phone if necessary.
CADTool will troubleshoot/resolve bug wise problems, but can NOT guarantee that we will add all new features
requested by clients.
For example, you fail to go through one spreadsheet's import, which causes error, you can email us that Excel file and we are obligated to resolve this for you without
additional charge to you.
You may also request to add some fancy features to Excel import, most of time we will consider this seriously and put it in the wish list. If there are more clients send us the similar requests, we will definitely add these features in the new version.
For upgrades, we will follow Autodesk's approach. Say AutoCAD 2006 is out and clients want to upgrade to
ACAD06 version, will charge upgrade fee similar to the percentage of fee
Autodesk charged for AutoCAD's upgrade.
1. We only charge upgrade fee when clients want to upgrade from
pre-ACAD05 to ACAD06 above version, the percentage of fee is similar to
ACAD05 to ACAD06 upgrade fee. Other than that, we do NOT charge any upgrade fee and clients are free to upgrade CAD Tool products in between
2. If clients stick to ACAD2000~ACAD2005, there is no additional charge for upgrade Back

FAQ 1-7: Any discount for large volume purchase
Yes, there
is discount.

FAQ 1-8: Any discount/ commission if I refer your product to others
Yes. You can get discount as referral and the commission will be sent to your designated receiver after the referred clients place their orders.
For example, one client referred by you places US$5000 order, there is 10% discount as amount of US$500
This US$500 can be returned in any one of these options
1. We send a check payable to your designated receiver
2. If you already ordered US$2000 for 10 network licenses, at $200 each, we send you 500/200=2.5 --> 3 additional network licenses
3. This client pay US$4500 for US$5000 purchase

FAQ 1-9: Why Office2CAD is the best and cheapest tool We
can proudly claim that Office2CAD is the cheapest Excel to CAD import
tool. One
of the competitors sells a similar tool for US$60 only, but users may
eventually pay $1000 more when they use this tool. Why ? There is huge
hidden cost incurred in the long term.
Office2CAD
uses only a fraction of the time used by other similar tools to complete an Excel to
CAD import/update. When users try a slightly bigger spreadsheet, say 200 rows by 20 columns, they will find tools from our competitors are totally not productive.
The processing speed is critical because each minute of engineers/designers' time incurs cost to a project.
In a long term
view, those cheap, non-productive tools are actually much expensive as it may take engineers 2~7 minutes to wait for an import/update to complete.
How much
is an engineer's hour rate?
How many
hours Office2CAD can save if 10 engineers in your office need 10X500
Excel imports/updates in one year?
